Hello Tractor People. I'm restoring Dad's old AC tractor. The serial number at bell housing tells me it's a D10 4067. 1961-2?
But! Some of the pics I've seen on the internet of other D10's does not match up with Dad's. It's got a cream colored radiator grill. Gas tank has the fuel gage on it, right behind the steering wheel. Motor has AM 4901-1 on it as well as G9M (both on right side of motor).
It's 12 volt instead of 6.
Motor and trans don't match completely all the way around it. For example, at the bottom of bell/torgue housing you can see right into the gears. When I took the starter off I was amazed at how much dirt was inside. IS This normal for this model? While I've used it for years I must admit I don't know much about it really. Dad's gone as well, so no help there.
Thanks for any help you may be able to offer. Hope to get it done for next years parade. Dad would be happier seeing it work though.
Thanks again.
Matt in Utah

There are 3 differant series of D-10's. The 1959-60 series I had a grill with black bares across it. Your tractor would be a late series I with the 149 engine instead of the 138.7 and a cream colored grill with no bars. Series I's used 3 differant grills.
