tractor weight?

I'm about to be given my ex-father in laws Alice Chalmers tractor. I haven't seen it since about 1979. I think it's a 1949? D-17? D-14? Anyhow, it has a "Farm Hand" attached to the front to stack hay with. The kids called it "Pa's sticky tractor". Anyone have any idea how much this tractor might weight? I'm in shock that the Ex-wife would give it to me, we have been divorced since 82.

TNT, not quite enough info to answer. The first D-17 and D-14 were in 1957. In 1949, it was the WD.
D-17 - 4867#
D-14 - 3623#
WD - 3721#
I'd add 750 to 1000# for the loader.

WD sounds familiar. I'll make a few phone calls and pin down the acutal model number. Like I said the last time I saw it was 1979. Thanks for the help. I have a 6,000 pound capacity car hauler and I'm trying to figure out if it will carry it or if I'll need to rent a larger trailer.

I hauled my D-17 diesel on a tandem axel trailer but it isn't a car hauler. The WD or D-14 would be no problem on a car hauler. I think the D-17 could be all right if the tires didn't have ballast (fluid) and there are no wheel weights or other added weights. I'd take the loader in a separate trip if you could. Support the rear of the trailer from the ground when you are loading and unloading. Put wood blocks under the rear frame on both sides up to about 1 1/2" from the frame. When loading, the trailer will come down to the blocks and the blocks will carry the weight. Drive the tractor on forward so the rear wheels are about over the rear axel. That puts most of the weight directly over the strongest part of the trailer.
