Sorry if I am rehashing a recent post, how do I jack up and support my C to remove the pedestal? (It is a NF) I was thinking of making a frame that would bolt to the four bolt holes in the front of the torque tube, and use a screw jack under the frame, or am I looking for trouble? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks, Tim

I know it's not the safest way, but I jacked mine up by putting the wide front rear pivot "lug" under the bellhousing in the cup on my 3T floor jack, but I had to put the jack on cribbing, worked nice to overhaul the front pedestal.

If you have an engine lift you can hold it up like the picture below. I have jacked the tractors up from the lobe under the bell housing of the torque tube and I have jacked them up by placing the jack under the pan. Eather one will work to remove the front end. When I don"t lift with an engine lift I place two jackstands under the drawbar at the outer width to keep the tractor from swinging sidways. Never damaged a pan with that method.

I use a peace of chanel iron bolted (2) to the side of the bell housing that goes all the way to the floor, jack up tractor at the center of the bell housing and if need be put a wood 2x4 under the chanel iron to get the right hight. and take the jack out. -�-
