After a difficult trip the 190XT has arrived at Eagle Mountain.

Headed down to show the neighbor kids and found a little problem.

When loaded, like simply going up a steep grade, the engine loads up then forward motion stops completely and the tractor rolls backward.

Don"t have the same problem in gears 1 through 6.

Was a little worried it wouldn"t pull at all so I chained it to an unwanted elm tree and tried it out. Gears 1 through 6 pull hard enough to break the 5/16" transport grade chain but 7 and 8 won"t pull.

Seems like the Power Director needs some adjustment since it will still move with it in neutral.

Thanks.

Thoughts?

It sounds more like an engine problem than a clutch problem. You did not say if it was gas or diesel. It sounds like it is getting too much fuel.
The only adjustment on the power director is for the centering of the valve spool. They will drag some in nuetral. If it is bad, it has warped plates in the pd clutch.
