My neighbor has a WD45 that we use to mow his field(a lot of it has not been done in a long time becasue it was not running) A couple years ago, I had a local guy who fixes tractors come out and get it running, and it ran great. Toards the end of last yeat, it died on me in the middle of the field and needed towed back in. This year I couldnt get it running for more than 2 minutes.I called the guy out again to look at it, and everything has been gone over, and it stil just wont run. after a lot of work, we can get it running for a little bit, but not very good. The only thing left is the magneto itself, and from what I am hearing it cannot be bought/repaired anymore(at least not around here) We had someone who deals with mags look at it, and he said the magnets seemed pretty weak, and the armature wasnt looking too great either. I found a few mags that look like they should work, but they are for the WD, not the WD45. I have been told that the WD45 requires a mag with a higher output to work properly. The guy who does my work also mentioned that it may be possible to remove the mag and install some sort of distributer system instead, but dosent know if it is possible with this tractor. What are the best options to get this tractor running as soon as possible, and on a low budget? Would a mag from a WD work, or should I find one from a WD45? I'm trying to find a simple, effective(at least for the next 5 or so years until he can afford a different tractor) solution that wont break the bank since my neighbor has already put more money than he can really afford into the tractor.
