Bob,
Where are you pulling? Aren't you from Muscoda? First you will need a "twisted" clevis, that can accept a hook. They call it a 3" clevis. If you're going to pull at Boscobel, give me a call and I'll get you started. We should have 6 allis' there.

I agree to the advise below as to setting up the tractor but as to the jitters that a lot of first time pullers have, just get out there and do it. Forget the jitters. Back up to the sled, let them hook the chain, put it in first gear and tighten the chain, wait for the green flag, let out the clutch easy, and follow the same tracks of the tractor that has gone the greatest distance. Watch the pulls ahead of you, even in earlier classes. Make mental notes as to how the sled reacts thru out the pulls. All this will help you learn to read the tracks

Bob:

Take a look at the rules on the NATPA web site. It pretty much covers the pulling rules for stock, simi-open and open class tractors.

first you need too know what the pulling rules are for that club or who ever is putting on the pull. next you have too decide what weight class's you want too pull in. try posting your question on the pulling board, they will have more and better answers for you.
