I have a few questions?
1) How does one time an Allis Chalmers with Magneto?

2) How do i know which hole on the distributor cap is number 1 and is the first spark plug hole on the block the number 1 spark plug?

As stated number one plug is up by the fan. Just follow the wires.

Nice picture but it is of a C tractor. Very similar but there are differences that might lead to confusion.

Nena: Use the search function on this site and search for WC timing or WC magneto. Timing the WC magneto has been discussed several times.

If you have access to the operator's manual or I&T shop manual for WC an explaination with some pictures is provided.

If you have problems or there is something you don't understand post back.

You mention both a magneto and a distributor. On a magneto, #1 plug wire is either top left or top right, but with rotation, it could be any one. All depends how you put the engine together. The only engine I've heard of that counts jugs from rear to the front is the Deutz- others are from front to rear.

Well number 1 cylinder is the one up by the rad.
