Allis B strange exhaust

My newly aquired B has a siamese exhaust (home made?) which splits into twin pipes just as it comes through the top tin. Needless to say getting the top tin off is impossible as the hole in the tin will not allow the twin pipes through it. How is the lower single exhaust pipe attached to the manifold ? If I can remove the whole pipe I will throw the siamese setup away and fit a standard exhaust. Thanks

exhaust is mounted with a single bolt thru the manifold and the pipe usually has a slot in it that slides oved the bolt. can be tough to loosen the bolt when very rusted. once loose you should bo able to twist the pipe and work out. lol BOB

ON MY 1940 B, THE MANIFOLD IS ALSO THREADED INSIDE FOR 1 1/2" PIPE THREAD. I DON'T KNOW WHAT YEAR YOU HAVE OR IF IT HAS THE ORIGINAL MANIFOLD, BUT IT COULD ALSO BE THREADED. LOL BOB P.S. I LIKED THE WAY YOU FREED UP THE ENGINE, HEAT WAS A BIG HELP.
