WD45 leak

I have a 57" AC , WD45 that leaks a great deal after running for a while. I noticed that it seems to do a steady drip stream, puddling about a 2' diameter puddle within a 30 minute period after use. The source seems to be the area behind the oil pan but in front of the PTO housing. It looks like it's coming from the plate of the torque housing? It runs freely for about 1/2 hour , then quits until I run it again. I'm guessing it's hydraulic related and occurs when I lift my mower. Any ideas on solving the problem or costs? Thanks,
Bryan

Thanks for the feedback. I checked it last night and it doesn"t seem to leak if I don"t lift the mower. I"ll have more time this weekend to watch it and I"ll post again then.

Thanks again!
Bryan

It could be the seal at the front of the hydrolic resevoir...just behind the clutch-housing. If the resevoir has ever been run low on oil, the seal runs dry and can fail..it can damage the shaft, but there are thin sleeves that can be installed, to recondition the sealing surface. You will need to pull the engine to replace the seal..and I would, anytime the engine is removed. Ron.. PS..try running the Hydroilic resevoir a quart low, and see if the leak stops....

It sounds like the engine rear seal. I have never been able to change one of these without removing the engine.
