Hi Ron,

Whatever B/C mower you find, check to see if the loose parts are available with it. The most important ones are the PTO drive pulley, the turnbuckles that go between the drawbar and the fender support angles and the tapered cast pieces that sit on the drawbar. the large adjustment washers that go between the mower support arms and the drawbar are nice to have but probably can be obtained from generic sources. The drive belt can be easily obtained from apower transmission supplier. I use a Gates C51 belt. The tapered cast pieces and the large washers are required in order to properly adjust the belt tension. The relocating of shims in the drive and driven two-piece pulleys is to change the sickle-to-engine speed, not adjust the belt tension. Click on the thumbnail to view the pieces I am talking about:

The B/C mower and the #5 are different mowers. The front supports for the B/C mower go straight up. The front supports for the #5 lean forward at about 45, then bend straight up. A lot of the other parts are different too. The B/C mower made after February, 1940, is also quite different from the B mower made before that. It's not my tractor, but here's a website with pictures of a very good B/C mower.

I have a belly sickle mower attached to a 1938 WC sitting in my field. It looks complete, but I am a Harry Ferguson man myself. Let me know and I will send you a pic or two. I will sell parts of this tractor if someone wants anything.

Thanks Matt, but it's my understanding that the sickle mower for a WC will not work with a C. The model is a number 5 sickle belly mower that fits a B or C.

I've got one here in Michigan. They go for $150-200. Be sure you get the pulley for the PTO and the belt if possible - the pulley is a neat piece but many of them have been lost when the tractor and mower parted ways.

I've got 4 or 5 sitting out back if you can find a ride from Spokane.

WC mower is totally different and runs off pto box under the tractor. B/C mowers run off the rear pto.
