I would like to know what grade of oils for my tranny and the hydraulic oil. and the location of each on the tractor. Kinda new to the tractor, love it.

Rob, I am not looking at my tractor right now, so let me see if I can get this right. On the Series I D-17, you should have two dipsticks by the shift lever. The one on the left is the power director which originally I think it called for 30W, but universal trans/hyd fluid is fine. The one on the right is for the transmission, which called for 80W-90. There is another one on the right side(if you are sitting on the tractor)under the fuel tank. This one is for the hydraulics. Use a good universal trans/hydr fluid there. In fact, I think I that Agco has stated that it is ok to use Power Fluid 821 (universal trans/hydraulic fluid) in the transmission also. I have been doing this in mine for about 15 years with no problem. Maybe this will help. MWM.

If I remember correctly I only have one dip stick by the gear shift and one behind the flywheel in the area down low on the transmission. I am assuming the one behind the flywheel is the tranny fluid and the one on the top by the gearshift is for the hydraulics. Thanks for any more info.Rob
