not sure if this is the place to post this or not, but i am trying to find out the model of a sickly bar mower that i am buying. the only thing it says on it is "twin drive". it is a belt drive sickly with a 7 foot bar, that is all i know about it and the people that have it have no other information. just wondered if anyone knew what mower this was and what model it might be.
thanks
Gary

Don't know if it helps or if you care, but I just sold a 7 ft. AC sickle mower for $225. It was the twin belt model, mounted center of the tractor (came off of a WD) with a special bracket at the rear that interfaced with the PTO. This particular one was in pretty good shape. A couple of welds, but otherwise pretty good. I had no idea what it was worth. I didn't use it and the fella who bought it seemed pretty happy.

AC made three models with the twin drive...#7, 80, and 82. The #7 used the snap coupler and was a rear mount. It lifted using both rear lift arms.

The 80R was a rear mount that used a special bracket mounted to where the drawbar bail usually goes and lifts with the right rear lift arm and a cable system. The 80R3 was the 3pt model. The 80S was the same mower but front side mount with a cable lift going to the LH rear lift arm. The 80SI was the industrial version with full hydraulic drive. There was also an 80T trailer model that had small 8" wheels.

The 82R was a 3pt model that had a thru shaft to run a hay conditioner and had a tail wheel. The 80T was the trailer model and had larger wheels. The 82S was the front side mount version that used a hydraulic cylinder up front to lift the mower. The 82SH was the industrial version.

Keep in mind that twin wheel drive parts are pretty expensive....

I have an "Outdoor Products by Allis Chalmer" sickle bar mower that is missing a few of the mounting parts. Does anyone know of a web site where I might find an owners manual or parts manual for this unit? I would also be interested in finding a conversion kit to adapt it to a 3 point hitch. Any Suggestions??

Thanks!

What type of mower? They made side mount, rear mount, or trailing mowers(with its own wheels). Later models had 3-pt hitch also. Pretty good mowers, in my opinion.

I am going to pickup my grandfathers 82R mower in October and would also like to find a website or other links for parts for this. The mower is in excellent condition and I plan on using it and want to rather get parts now than latter.
