CA no oil pressure

I just started my CA that had been siezed. I honed the cylinders and put new rings in her because she looked excellent upon dissambly. But, when we started her today, there was no oil pressure. I pulled the oip pressure gauge and nothing came out. I removed the oil pressure gauge bracket and got just a trickle of oil coming from there.. My father thinks that maybe the oil pump may be froze because I did not take it apart, I know it turned freely but now I see that there are other moving parts which must move for it to work...Does anybody think these may free themselves if I run it more...any suggestions before I break her in half again... This is my first tractor so I am pretty green at this end... Any help would be greatly appriciated

I had the same experience when I started my C (same basic engine) which had been sitting for years. I pulled the fittings apart that go into the block and squirted engine oil into the block. This action primes the pump. It fills the lines and lubricates the vanes in the pump. After squirting about 1/4 cup down the line, I reassembled and started. Had pressure immediately.

What ever you do do NOT run engine until you're positive its getting lubed! Try pouring oil down one of the oil ports after disconnected-perhaps just needs a prime.Also is it fresh oil?If you have to remove oil pump then pack with vaseline before installing again.Good luck!

pat has the plan, but go one further. there is a 1/4 inch steel pipe coming out of the pump at the back right side of the motor. there is a TEE on top that puts oil to the filter, and the vavle train top end.---- take the TEE off and let the pipe nipple stick out in the open. pump oil from an oil gun down the hole till full ( 4-5 ounces is o.k.) crank motor with the ignition off. you should get lots of oit outof the tube. make a mess, but guarantee the pump is working. put the TEE and the U tobe to the filter housing back on. leve the filter off and crank again to see it flow outof the filter tube. --- if you have oil at the pump, but not the filter, maybe the tube is pushed too far intot he filter housing, or the gauge is bad.--- is there oil in the filter??

REMOVE THE OIL FILTER AND MAKE SURE THE TUBE IS THERE. THEN PRIME THE PUMP. I REMOVE THE TUBE FROM THE TEE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FILTER, THEN TURN THE FILTER END UP TOWARD THE HEAD AND RECONNECT AT THE TEE. SQUIRT OIL FROM A SQUIRT CAN INTO THE TUBE. SEVERAL SQUIRTS WIIL DO. THEN REFASTEN THE TUBE AND FIRE IT UP. SHOULD BE FINE.

What kind of filter are you runing I have herd the napa /wix filters will not let it have presher they have a paper eliment insted of the cotten stuff
