Have a '37 WC with a Fairbanks Morse RV4B magneto on it. It does not work real well when warm. Great wehn cold but hot it's a bugger! Spark gets weak as it warms up. One thought on the matter is that it has a coil in it from a type J.

Have read several recommendations for Mark's Magneto Service as having coils specifically for the RV series mags but the phone number 860-887-1094 is answered by somebody that says nobody here by the name of Mark. This also isn't Mark's Magneto service, click.

Anybody have an idea what's up or where to turn next?

Mark's moved and has a new number 860-537-0376. He just has rewind coils for the RVs as we have a guy on the E coast that rewinds them now and they will be hotter than the J& X coil. A good condenser will be needed too as the RV ones are old and usually leak now. Aftermarket J & X coils are available and will cost less than the rewind coil but won't be quite as hot. I also have some parts for the RV 2, 4 & 6 if you need something else let me know. 806-295-3682

You might try magneeders.com or there phone number 417-358-7863. If you call just ask if this is magneeders and the woman will get Jack on the phone. This is a good old mom and papa type of place.
