I have a D-14 A/C 1957 model..I have changed to 12V start. Starts very good..runs for about 15 min. then have to full choke to keep running. more so when not on level ground, with bush hog
I have had the Carb. rebuilt 2 times, gas tank cleaned, new coil, new points, new plugs, new plug wires.also put octane booster in gas.Engine was rebuilt about 10 years ago..I use tractor about 20 hrs. per year. grade drive and bush hog a bit..I talked with a mechanic a few days ago. said could be the intake manifold gasket.
any suggestions would be VERY MUCH APPERICATED.

Does it have a VENTED gas cap? Gas caps for cars are not vented and cause big problems on tractors. Is there a screen in or on any of the fittings, tank to carb, that could be clogged? Are all of the fittings drilled through properly? I ran into one that wasn't.

Is the vent in the fuel tank cap open? If you put a inline fuel filter on is it for a gravity flow fuel system? Is the screen for the sediment bulb in position correctly?

Running for 15 minutes is a fuel flow problem, the choke making it better is a sure sign too. There is trash in the fuel line somewhere.

Hows the fuel flow out the bottom of the carb when you pull the carb drain plug?? You should get a good stream of gas out of it, if you don't then you have a clogged fuel line or a float setting problem. You also may have a manifold problem and may need to replace/tighten up the maniflod to head. Or replace the gasket. But from what you have said it sounds more like the main jet is clogged or just plain not getting enough gas to the carb/engine
