I have a D17 lp and i don"t know much about D17. The dip stick under the gas tank what type oil and what does oil work? The dip stick beside the gear stick what oil and what does oil work?Is the oil in the final drive separt? thanks John

the dipstick under the tank is hyd, i was aw68 in my D14, any universal hyd oil should be ok. the stick behind the gearshift is your trans/rear end, and that takes 90wt, as do the final drives which are checked with the plug that is on the side of the housing down by the tire. there is also a dipstick ahead of the gearshift to the left, which looks like a big bolt ahead, it takes 1-1/4" wrench. this is for your power director which takes non detergent 20wt, avaliable at tractor supply. the power director floats in oil to cool the clutch plates. hope this helps
