I'm ignorant when it comes to Allis tractors, so I'm going to ask a stupid question.

A buddy of mine wants to get rid of his styled WC. Tractor runs strong, has straight sheet metal with decent paint, good tires, and comes with a full set of factory steel wheels.

He wants $800 for it. Should I buy it?

A buddy of mine has a styled WC and it is totally restored. He is asking $850 for it, but it is in Western, Pa. Let me know if you are interested.

If it were close to me, and my cash situation was good at the time I probably would. You say you are ignorant about Allis Chalmers, some say I am stupid about them because I like them. I have seen some pretty sorry looking ones sell for that much.

Auction prices on WCs and WDs have been going up in recent months. $800.00 isn't a bad price.

Why do you want the tractor? If you are looking for a work tractor one of the WD or D series, with hydraulics, for several hundred dollars more would be a better buy.

Again $800.00 is in the ballpark.

We've got plenty of work tractors. The WC would just be a big toy for parades and tractor pulls.

I wouldn't have any use for the steel wheels. Is there any demand for those things?

In a word YES! I've seen them bring lots of money if they are in good shape and really correct for the WC.
