rear tires on wd45

Currently have a wd45 with the stock 26 (or are they 28, brain fart) inch rims and tires, neighbors farm has deere 4960 with 30 inch radials on the front, but they are getting worn just to my likings, but they are gonna change em cause they are not meaty enough for the mud, should i get em? The neighbor says if i can use em they are mine. Anyone ever run like that? Or will it run at all? Where can i get a set of rims to fit my tractor? Thanks alot in advance

WD and WD45 had 28 inch rims, WD45 had a 9-38 option. D19 had a 18.4x34 or 15.5x38. I think some later ACs ran 30 inch- maybe a 180?- but you need the rim and wheel center - I'm guessing that the bolt pattern is the same. Ground speed will change if you go larger- even if you stay with 28 and go with the 18.4 that bigger AC used. Granted, free is hard to pass up, but if they are already worn so the previous guy doesn't use them, why not buy new 14.9x28?-max option with the WD45?

I think you have a very tall order. Allis used 24", 26" and 28" on D17 and smaller tractors. Your wheels will only accomodate the 28" rims. With the D-19, they went to 38" rims. Though the D-21 had 32, 34 or 38" tires, I don't think they were spin out rims. But still they were not 30".

Some other brand may have 30" spin out rims - I don't know. If you go to a different brand, the Allis parts might not fit the rails. All in all, the cost to convert a tractor to a non used rim size would be substantial and the effort involved huge. Buying other used tires the correct size would be much cheaper and easier.
