what can I put on for a head to increase the hp and how much power will I gain.1952 wd

Mark, Original was about 33 hp. I know, that with the right combination that 54 hp is achievable. Dad had a 53 WD. It had the deeper head and curved gearshift, apparently one of the last WDs before the transition to WD45. When he rebuilt the engine he put the WD45 crank, M&W HP piston and sleeve assembly, D17 intake and exhaust manifold and carburetor. The dealer ship ran an intermittent loading on the engine up to 47 hp for one hour then cranked it up to 54 hp for 30 minutes or so. It was late spring and Dad wanted it broke in when he brought it home. It ran for years with this configuration. I do remember that the RPM was set up higher than original WD. AC Dealer in Goldsboro, NC rebuilt it and guaranteed the work. It depends on what you want to spend. Other side in if you work a horse you got to feed it. Fuel consumption was double the original configuration. If you go to the field and work it, you could burn two tanks of fuel per day. Hope this helps. Jim
