my grandpa was working on my WD, and he started it up, let it run for bout a half hour, then shut it off. later that day, he wanted to use it to pull something. i havent been able to do anything with the tractor, seeing as how its about hours away one way. he says that even with spark plugs out it cranks very hard. the only two things that i can come up with are: (1) low vlotage getting to the starter, and (2) it was run without any lubrecation, and it is semi seized. whatever it is, the only problem on fixing it would be money (kind of) cause i do all of our mechanical work on the farm.
thanx

Checking to see if the tractor had oil should be pretty easy to do. Low voltage to the starter as a result of bad cables and connections or a dead battery are much more likely.

hey texas,
the last time i started it, about 3 weeks ago, the starter worked fine, and i put a new battery in it, so i am having trouble believing that in 3 weeks and no use, i dont really see how the cables could go out the window so quick, but i have been wrong before, and will definantly be wrong again.
thanx

You may want to check the ground. It needs to be rust free where the the cable bolts on to the tractor, especially if it is a 6 volt positive ground system.
