I just installed a new Zenith replacement carb. on my AC model CA. Part number 12522-AC. The problem is that when the motor has a load put on it or is given more gas quickly it quits. It starts again just fine and holds an idle perfectly. No vacum leak is apparent. Is there an adjustment to make to the govenor? Has anyone else installed this model Zenith carb and ran into the same issue?

It should have 2 adjustment screws on it, one should be idle and the other one load/main jet. Most of the time the main is low on the carb, if it has one turn it out a little at a time till it pulls like you want.

Yep, I tried to adjust it out to give it more and less fuel but as I backed the adjustment out it got worse. That is why I suspect that I am getting too much fuel. There is not a lot of black smoke as if it loaded up though, just a small amount. Does the govenor give it some more fuel when the motor loads up and if so is there some sort of adjustment on it to slow the rate that it gives it more fuel?

Well, if you didn't get lines or tank and fuel cleaned up and filtered you may have new carb all gunked up and can't adjust it. Need to check all that out too.

Well if its smokeing a lot of black smoke your to rich, turn the screw in. The gov. works the carb so that when you need more gas/power it opens the trottle plate in the carb when you need less power it closes it.
