i have a allis chalmers 1945 model c tractor and it has a magneto ignition system but it sucks!!
is there a kit or a way for me to convert from magneto to points or even to electronic if its possible? Thank You

What is really wrong with your mag? Is it a FM J or X or other other brand? I can supply you parts lists, repair instructions if want to fix yourself and parts for those mags in stock or can repair it for you too. I carry OEM parts and a cheaper line of aftermarket parts too. 806-295-3682 [email protected] By the way you can probably get more parts for the magnetos than you can for some of the distributors and if they are worn out then another headache too.

I agree with Steve. If the magneto works correctly they are an excellent ignition for tractors. And I believe they go a lot further between maintenance. I'd pay to fix it rather than switching to a distributor. I have a mag in my C.

the later tractors like the CA used a distributor and coil. you can look around and find one of those and install if thats what you want. what is wrong with the mag?? i have two model B tractos with mag. i have electric starter, good timing, and new plugs. i hit thte starter, motor turns over 1 revolution and tractor is running. a good mag is a great ignition system. you can have them rebuilt by STEVE at B&B probalby same price as a distributor.
