Need help...I had my pump rebuilt, also the cylinder. The lift still slow and very jerky when raising, sometimes I help it lift. After I had it rebuilt it worked good for a while. The oil level is correct. The tractor only has one cylinder and I'm lifting a cultivater. Is there an adjustment to speed the lift up? When the lift is all the way up is there any way to make the lift hold up on it's own? I have to hold the lift lever all the way back with my hand to hold it up now. I have no leaks in system. The lift works the same with the cultivater unhooked. thank you for any help or advice...

I just rebuilt mine also and i too have a few problems. here is what i have learned.--- looking down on top of the pump there is two 3/4 inch plugs and a 11/16 inch plug. the two big plugs have a spring and ball bearing below it that set on a seat. these are the discharge valves for the two piston pumps. if the ball dont seat good on the bottom, the lift will not hold up.--- there is a relief piston in the center of the pump vavle assembly that has a check ball in the middle of it. That is a second spot for leak down to occure.--- last, get a 5000 psi gauge from Farm Store. remove the hose to the cylinder and install the gague. pull the lift lever and see what pressure is. you should have 3100 psi max, i set mine to 2500 psi. if not, there is an adjustment piston under the 11/16 plug on top listed above. you measure the depth of the piston in the bore with depth gauge, then drive it down .030 and retest, etc.--- lastly, the pump is a fixed volumn, it can not be increased or made to "go faster". if it is slow, it might be to internal leakage past the discharge valve balls.--- if you had it rebuilt, you need to go back and talk to the guy about these problems.
