Are Year round cabs completely enclosed or are there open gaps? I have heard that these earlier cabs were nothing more than glorified shield things that you put on the tractor without a roof (just canvas and 3 vinal winshields). Is this true, or are the Year round cabs fully enclosed? What do you all think of these cabs? Any things that were bad about them or I need to watch out for? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm familiar with Year-Round and Hiniker cabs from Mid 70s era. Both good designs, typically one inch foam insulation, compared to thinner levels on cheaper ones. Hiniker was made in Mankato, MN., I think Year-Round might also have been. Other similar design/quality was Cozy Cab in Litchfield, MN. Some of these companies had earlier versions that were narrow, poorly insulated- noise drove you nuts. I had a Hiniker on a 4020, well satisfied with it, but it does not compare to JD New Generation or IH cabs. But plowing in a November snow squall, in a T-shirt, Hiniker was just fine!
