C Allis add on hydraulic pump.

I posted this once before but now I can't find the post. My Father has a Interational 404 that the hyd pump is driven by distributor gear and the distributor mounts to the hyd pump. My question is has anyone ever used this type of hydraulic setup on a C Allis? My C had an International Mag on it when I bought it so that kinda makes me think that the hyd pump wound mount to the distributor gears but my concern is that the timing gears would not be able to withstand the pump. I could mount a crank driven pump but still want to use the distributor driven unit. I want to put a three point lift on this C and make it live three point if possible and retain the stock pto pump for lifting of drawbar impliments.

please let me know how this works. i just got a three point for my C and want to put live hydraulics on it. i also want to put a snow plow on the front of it.

The pump that was used on the Farmall H will work. I am not sure about other Farmall models. I was told the one off the Farmall M would not work but never gave one a try.

Many years ago there was a power steering pump, I believe made by Char-Lynn, that was mounted between the drive and the distributor on the WD45. I believe the CA used the same size unit- so if you could find one of those units, you could have a hydraulic system from that source. May not find parts for it anymore, so a different drive source might be advisable. Could mount one in front, through the crank hole, even if you needed to make a bracket going back to each side of the engine.

Thanks for the replies. I think the pump on the 404 International is a Cesina. Might not have spelt that right but I want to use the distrubitor drive rather than the crank shaft option.

If you need to do a Google search, try Cessna. They are on everything from combines to aircraft. My concern is that the Char-Lynn pump was sized for a power steering unit, which is not enough for other hydraulics as well. Also the parts availability issue. Heard they were not available, but that might be gossip.

The pumps that I have looked at were M&W"s. Could be lots of brands out there for all I know.
