I am in the midst of putting a used engine in a 6060 and cannot get the free play right for the clutch. I used the correct aligning tool, I was wondering if the difference is this new motor came out of a newer tractor I see there is a serial # break for clutch adjustment early years use free play the later years use none. Any suggestions, thanks. ( the clutch is brand new also)

Kraig:

According to my service manual on the 6060 tractor, the free play or not depends on if you have a return spring on the clutch release lever. Return spring is used on tractors prior to ser#3000. I've got one that is ser#1064 and doesn't have a return spring, I'd guess that is was updated, it works fine. Good Luck Lee
