d-14 drawbar

My D-14 came with no draw bar - has snap coupler and blade and a plow, but I want to use pull type brus hog mower - I think there must be some kind of bracket missing to hold drawbar into place. I guess i need to manufacture the bracket and draw bar - where can I find a picture or specs or something?

Jim, you may want to try posting your inquiry on the unofficial allis site. A few months ago when the bail on my WD45 broke, a vendor responded and had these items in stock. They may also have had drawbars, I don't recall. They had a web site with the items available and pictures. Dave

There is a D-14 drawbar for sale on Ebay right now but it is called a WD drawbar. Anyway, The one the seller is selling looks exactly like the one on my D-14 but doesn't look anything like a WD drawbar.

I think I have the parts manual at my ranch and can get pictures if you like and I could take some measurements/dimension of the one on my D-14.

I'd sure grab that stuff on Ebay because I think he started it at $0.99.

I havent had a chance to look at this yet, but there is a difference in the draw bars, the WD and WD 45 drawbar had a bend in it where the upper and lower hald bolted together and the D series had a flat drawbar and the loop bolted on to it. Hope this helps. Shane

Go to a parts manual for pix on what should be under the tractor. I don't know D14s well, but I believe they had two brackets and a 'bail' assembly similar to what is on the WD. The WD bail was straight, and I think the D14 bail had a curve in it, since the brackets under the rear housing were bolted closer together than on the WD. The drawbar was clamped to the bail on each tractor.

It shouldn't be very hard to make one, just be sure you don't bolt or weld the draw bar to it. I've seen that done way to often by people who seem to think they are making things stronger and they don't seem to realize they are doing away with the traction booster system.

The drawbar is used for towed implements. The AC Traction Booster system works with mounted implements. Welding a drawbar to the bail assembly would have no effect on the TB system. The only loss would be making it non-adjustable for height.

There is a bracket that bolts on under the rockershaft housing that supports your drawbar and the actual drawbar snaps into the snap coupler. I to seek exactly what you seek, I wish you luck as I have tried everybody I can think of and have been unable to find anyhting. I am going to check one more place and then I am going to take the stuff off my uncles tractor and take them to a local machine shop and have them made.
