Bill and I just purchased an Allis Chalmers which is in bad shape. We were told by the person we bought it from that it was probably a 1941. She said that her father had bought it used, was doing some work on it when he died. It has the letter B on the front of it. Where could we look to see or how would we be sure of what year it was? We are also looking to purchase the correct manual for this model.

If you go to the left under galleries, you'll find tractor photos. look them until you find what you have. Each model has the serial number in different places. So it's best to figure out what you have first, then find the serial number. With the serial, you can find the year, manuals, etc. People often have the wrong decals on tractors.

Next to the base of the shifter will be a flat spot. Clean it to discover your model and serial number, If it"s a B , it will start B then the number that you can look up to the left on this site under serial numbers. And most of the advertisers for this site will have a manual for you. Have fun with it. Mike
