I just purchased a 7040 power director. Just wondering how it all works. It has a hi&lo, Park and a hi & lo on the floor also a traction booster. Do you have to use the clutch shifting all of these? What does the traction booster do?

The hi-lo,park lever shifts from park to low or high range clutch has to be used to shift.
Hi-lo button in floor are shift on the go(power director). When clutch is depressed power director shifts to low, so you always start off on the low side. The low side is your inching clutch.Early 7040(marron belly paint)had 5 speed gearlever in floor,Clutch to shift.Later 7040 (black belly) had 5 speed on right console by park-hi-low lever, clutch to shift. Traction Booster is draft control for 3 point hitch.
