Hey guys!! Just got myself an A/C G to restore. It looks pretty rough now , but I have plenty time to work on it. It's been sitting out in the weather for about ten years. Where do I find the serial number so I can determine the age.

Thanks guy, I found the numbers one is a 1949 ( G 16833) and the other is a 1948 (G 6) from what I can make out. Did I luck out and get the very first G made???

The serial # is on top of the tranny, near the shifter and the shift pattern. It should be stamped (I'm pretty sure) on the flat area right around there.

The ones we used to own had serial number plates riveted to the body above the shoe on the left side of the machine. Great machines, I rebuilt several over the years. Nothing can beat them in a crop of flax....
