I am looking for a loader for a 1951 Allis Chalmers WD. I am located in Northwest Iowa (near Spencer). What loaders would fit? (What years, what models...?) Roughly how much should one expect to pay? What's the best strategy to find one? Anyone here have one in a reasonable driving distance?
Thank you.

If you are looking for a trip bucket loader, they are not hard to find. Anything beyond that will require more hydraulics than what a factory WD has. I have a couple of extra Paulson loaders and one other brand. Usually on farm sales they go about three hundred bucks. If you want a hydraulic bucket, they need an extra pump to run the whole system with two valves.

I'd run an ad in a local shopper to see if anyone has one around your area. The AC model 90 tube frame loader was real popular around here. A pretty good one might run you around $300. There are lots of other brands of loaders that can be made to fit without much work.
