a B front end and motor to a C transmission and rear end? I bought what I thought was a B on an auction yesterday but when I got it home I noticed that the rear end was wider than my other B's. The front ends were identical though. Then, when I checked the serial number it was C12372. Anybody got any ideas?

Hi Stoney,

If you have the "wishbone" front axle and if the steering arm that attaches to the gearbox points down, not up, you have a B front attached to a C rear. I think they will bolt right up at the torque tube-to-transmission housing joint.

I believe the rear axels are about the only significant differences between a B & a C. CA engines will bolt up to either also.

Thanks. This tractor had been repainted and had a B decal on it. I guess I have a wide front end C. The steering linkage is down low going from the steering box to the front end like on a B, though. Maybe it's bastardized between the two.
