I have two questions regarding a AC model B. What is the purpose of the three positions of the light switch? What size grease fittings(zerks) does a B have?

Hi Tom,

The three position switch:

All the way in is lights off generator at low charge.

Middle position is lights on, generator at high charge.

All the way out is lights off, generator at high charge.

I hate that switch :o).

As far as the zerks go they are what I would consider a "standard" size. A regular grease gun works well. As far as the thread goes, I don't know but would guess it would be standard 1/8" pipe. Easy enough to pull one and find out.

I agree with Rod i hate that switch, our CA's switch is still screwed up and we have gone over everything and still cant figure it out so we just left well enoough alone~good luck! - Tyler

Rod has a good explaination of the switch. you will see a resistor on the back. that is used in the ground circuit of the generator to adjust the current charge rate to low or high. there is no voltage regulator on this tractor. if you install a 12 volt generator or alternator ont he tractor, then the resistor type light switch is not needed. for the standard 6 volt, it is used.
