if it is a 58 then i has a starter. right side of tractor where motor meets the flywheel housing. setting in the seat you should see a 1/4 inch rod by your right foot or under the gas tank with a round loop on it. the other end of the rod connects to the starter motor switch. shove in on the loop rod and it pushes the starter button.----- ---- steering wheel is held up with a 1 inch pipe. just below the wheel is a cast triangle on the right side of the pipe. the flat lever is the throttle, opposite side of the pipe is a 1/8 inch rod with a loop, that is the choke.----- ---- if you dont have a starter then the tractor has been modified, or it is more loke a 1940 model. -- is there a battery between teh gas tank and seat? also a generator and a couple wires on the left side of motor at front, driven by fan belt?

I'll be the smart A$$ this time Steve. They didn't have starters on '58 Bs. They didn't make Bs in '58.

Jo
The B you have may not have a starter, it may be Mag and hand crank,If it is hand crank you may want to find someone local too show you, Or your next post might be about broken hand.Good luck

Jo like the guys said its probably a earlier model than you think find the serial number by the shifter and look too your left here and go to serial numbers and it will give you the year. But from what you said it is a hand crank machine. look below the radiator and you will see a slotted nut were the hand crank inserts. when you crank it DO NOT put thumb around crank and leave palm open when you turn .
