I don't own a G model, but sell Autolite plugs to our AC customer's. The 295 is a popular plug used in a lot of the early model AC's including the G model. The Autolites out perform the Champions in all aspects. They don't foul as easy, and when they do foul, (which is rare) they clear up quite fast. Overall, I've found they're just a better quality and much more reliable plug. We sell NGK's also to some of our AC customer's, and they seem to work quite well also. NGK's have a little tighter heat range option to them. I ran a set of NGK's in my model B all last year pullin' my finish mower behind. She purred all season and fired right up stone cold. Some folks don't have any trouble with Champions, most do. HTH.
