I have several questions about sickle bar mowers for AC G tractors:

1. How effective are they for mowing grass? and how wide is the cut?
2. How difficult is it to find working versions?
3. What is the general price range for them?
3. Are all G tractors ready to accept them?

Thanks

A couple of other points :

They have a 5 foot cut, and they have a handy foot pedal to turn the sickle on and off. Make sure you get the plate and brackets so that you can mount it to the tractor.

I know that you can get more foot perc cut, per HP out of a sickle bar mower than rotary on those little tractors. Course my experience comes from a IH cub.. but that's got a teensy power plant as well..

The one we used was real handy...mid mount, easy to see what you were doing and when equiped with a sharp sickle and ledger plates...did a great job.
Not sure on ease of finding a good one...had an extra one that we sold to a guy on the east coast (I believe New York) for $500.00 plus a couple hundred shipping and he seemed happy to get it for that price.
As far as it fitting on your G....you need to have the belt pully mech on your G and then take the flat belt pully off (4 bolts if I remember correctly) and install the V belt pully that should be part of the mower purchase. If you buy a mower with "all" the parts and have a flat belt pully assembly on your tractor...it should work. Den
