need help identifying AC apple harvester motor

Help! I'm retoring a almost working apple harvester that is all hydraulic - the 4 cylinder gas motor runs one big pump. I think it's a AC since the radiator has Allice Chalmers on it - but I'm not sure. The # plate is worn off, but the block has "AW 4660 - 3 A20V" on the rear right side as a casting mark. Also the distributor looks weird to me (has an internal coil I guess since only the 4 spark plug wires come out the cap!) It's #S are intact so that might help - "Fairbanks - Morris Type 5 FM X483C", "Ser #5559808" and "Mfgd. for 231181". If I can figure out what it is, then I guess I could get parts to fix it (ring job). If not then I'll have to put some other motor there (MORE work). Can anybody suggest how to solve this puzzle? I know I will here something back on this but here goes--chances are that it is a 201 that was used in the WC & WD tractors since it has a magneto, or the smaller B & C engine which has a 3 1/4" bore and I don't remember the CI size. The 201 will have a 4" bore. Rebuild kits are plenty for either engine.

Thanks - at least it's something! I'm not familiar with those tractor names but I take it there were 2 different engines - one with a 3 1/4" bore used in the 'b's and 'c's and a slightly larger one used in the "wc" and "wd" models (which i have heard of). Do you have any idea of the total displacement or power from these motors in case this one is not salvaglable? Also, the magneto distributor worry's me a little bit since I've never seen it in a motor this size before. Once I get the motor opened up then I'll need to make a decision about rebuilding it or replacing it with a small auto motor. I would prefer rebuilding it so that I don't need to change the dirict drive hydraulic pump mounts!

i dont recognize the motor casting number. you are describing a magnito ignition , not a distributor ignition. your magnito works more like a small lawn mower motor. gets its spark as the motor revolves. you dont need a battery to get it to spark. you are right, the coil is in the magnito. FM was a common distributor for all tractor models. ask you question at Allischalmers dot com and the guys there may recognize the casting number.
