In the process of fixing up a 53 model Allis B with hydraulics. Previous owner told me the hydraulic were weak. Sometimes would lift the one bottom plow and sometimes not. The tractor is now partically taken apart for repair, resealing and painting. Can anyone give me an overview of the hydraulic system. How much pressure should the pump put out, type of oil or fluid and etc on this tractor. The factory cylinder looks very small. Is there more then one size cylinder available for more lifting power? Thanks in advance. Nick.

Hi Nick,

I'm guessing by your posting that you're across the lake from me in Wisconsin.

I may be able to help you, but it may take a couple of weeks before I can. I'm traveling on business this week and next in Dallas and Orlando (yeah, my wife is kinda upset that I'm down here in the south where it's a bit warmer than home and I didn't take her with me...I'll have to make it up to her somehow! But I digress)..

I have, I believe, at home a combination service manual that has model B and C tractors (we have a little C that just purrs like a kitten), that has a fair section on hydraulics. If I'm thinking right, and I do have it, I'd be happy to get the sections copied and mail 'em out to you. I've had others help me on the forum this way and I want to be a "good neighbor". If you don't get an answer in a couple of weeks, come back to your listing and write a response so I'll get it (I sometimes don't get to the forum for a week or so) and if I have it, I'll get a copy to you.

Dave
