got our old wc running, but the oil pressure is very low, just barly moves gauge. I have added washers to relief valve - 1/2 inch of washers brought pressure to low end of normal range - 3/4 inch of washers brought pressure to mid normal range, but pressure droped after 5 min. of running. Have new oil, 30W, new filter, gauge is new and shows same as old gauge. What do I check next?

Cam bearings are probably worn out.

You need to check a couple of things before you open it up...

Check to see that you have a Genuine AC oil filter on it..some other brands will drop oil pressure dramaticly... Be SURE you have an Original-type oil pressure gauge on the tractor... Many are for 50 lbs, and your WC will only carry about 10 or less even freshly rebuilt..certainly no more than 15 lbs..!!

WELL THERE ARE A COUPLE OF THINGS CAN MAKE U LOSE OIL PRESSURE. ONE IS UR OIL PUMP IS BAD AND IT BACK FLOWING. TWO BAD BEARINGS AND THREE SPUN BEARING ( NOT GOOD AND IS LIKE THE MOST COMMON THING TO HAPPEN) HAPPENEND TO ME COUPLE OF TIME AND U HAVE TO REDO UR CRANK. EASY WAY TO CHECK FOR BAD BEARINGS IT DROP THE OIL PAN AND TAKE ONE MAIN CAP AND ROB BEARINGS AT A TIME. HOPE THIS HELPS
