CA oil pan leak

Just put the oil pan back on my ca, and when looking at the front of the engine where the timing cover comes down flush with the block there are two gaps on either side between the block and timing cover where the pan gasket goes. I said to myself that is gonna leak oil, and sure enough it runs out fairly good on to the front tire. There is not much of a mating surface for the gasket to seal on in those two spots. What if anyone understands what i'm talking about do you do to stop the leak, any info is appreciated, Ken.

You need to puddle in enough silicone to seal that area both front and back. I do that early so it can set up some before putting the pan on.

I had the same thing when I put a new 1 on a month ago.Looks like gasket just aint wide enouge. So I dont know if it right but I took mine back off and did what Dick said used the Black silicone and put it on heavy in front and little in back.Kind of looks like desighn flaw.
