bought an old WD to pull my baler. couple teeth were broken on input shaft when i bought it so i pulled it apart. previous owner had run it until the bearing had completely destroyed and ruined the pinion shaft at the bearing surface. how much trouble will it be to replace the pinion shaft and does anyone have one for sale? thanks btw, its the early style tranny

If it is just the pinion shaft you might buy a new one. However, the ring gear is probably shot if the pinion gear is worn and the bearings are shot. Probably the cheapest way is to get a parts tractor or buy a transmission/rear end at a junkyard.

I'll just need the pinion and the bearing that goes between the input and the pinion. the rear bearing seems to be just fine. I've been looking locally for a parts WD without success. I agree it would be easier just to roll another rear section in and bolt up. Thanks to all
