I HAVE A WD-45 WHICH STARTS FINE AND IDLES WELL. HOWEVER AT HIGH RPM THE ENGINE RUNS UNEVENLY. I HAVE TRIED ADJUSTING THE MAIN JET NEEDLE WITH NO IMPROVEMENT.

Ive had problems like this before in my pulling tractor and it was to HOT of spark plugs. i went with the coldest and it ran great. by the way do you have any relation that lives in evansville indiana?

I had a similar problem with a WD. On mine it missed, popped, sputtered and had no power at anything much over idle. The solution was replacing the condensor. Be sure to check the point surface and gap.

I had a similar problem with a WD45. It had to finally quit before I fiqured out the coil was bad. I think it had been converted to 12V without changing the coil.

Usually a sputtering or misfiring at high speeds is a good chance that the points are too close together or the points are bad. Try adjusting them farther apart. Hope this helps.

A WORN DISTRIBITOR BEARING WILL GIVE THOSE SYMTOMS OF BAD POINT SETTINGS HOPE THIS ALSO HELPS

Heres an easy NO COST fix for a worn distributor bushing; remove the distributor from the tractor, drive out the pin on the drive gear, pull out the shaft, now with a bushing driver, an old socket will work, drive out the bushing, cut it in equal halves, reverse the two halves and reassemble. The local AGCO dealer told me this one. Works just as good as a new one and is $50 cheaper. Brian

P.S. I did away with points altogether with an electronic conversion. If you can put in points, you can put in this conversion. Brian
