Go back to your 1-17-05 posting. The answers were posted. However. 1) The inspection hole is on the bottom of the bellhousing - not on either side. 2) Timing mark(s) are on the back side of the flywheel. You will need to get under the tractor to see the marks. Use a good light, perhaps some sandpaper, sometimes the mark(s) are hard to see. 3) Timing mark (F) is 30 degrees before TDC. So using the bolt holding the front pully to the crankshaft as a guide. Crank the engine over until the bolt is in the 11:00 O'clock position. The (F) timing mark should be visible through the inspection hole/plate. 4) Also there were two different inspection plates used. You may have to remove the entire plate, 6 bolts, to view the timing marks. 5) Again. The timing marks are visible from the bottom of the bellhousing. You will have to get under the tractor. And, timing the engine takes place under the tractor.
