Allis C timing

Trying to time a magneto on an Allis C.
Do I time it to the FIRE mark on the flywheel or the CENTER mark.
I could really use some advice on how to time this tractor. Sorry, I am a John Deere man. If someone could help me as to where the rotor should be with which mark, I would really appreciate it.

Hi Richard,

You use the "center" mark unless you are using a timing light with the tractor running, in which case you would use the "fire" mark. If you want more detailed insructions on magneto ignition timing, click on my name and check out my two links on the FMJ magneto. It's for a B but the C should be the same.

That is what I needed to know. I really like your website.
I have a very hot spark on the mag on the work bench, I just needed to know how to set the engine timing.
