Hi all

I have found a loader for my D 14, it came off an old Case tractor and works fine (slow I guess) on that tractor. The loader comes with a two valve control as it has one cylinder on the bucket. I searched the archives but can't really find info on how to plumb this in. My tractor has the nob you can screw in located on the rear end that I guess isolates the 3 pt hydraulics and I have a single valve with two couplers as well.
So can I just screw in that nob engage the 3 pt lever (up position) and run hoses to the loader from the two couplers leaving my existing single valve in the "open" position?
Any info or diagram would be most helpfull.

there was a fellow on this board talking about how he converted a WD45 hyd system to work better with his loader w/hyd bucket. I would think the WD45 and D14 would be similar hookups(????? ?) it was a few days ago.

What you suggest should work, but the AC tractors use a high pressure (3200psi system), low volume. So if you load the loader enough, it will blow the seals out of the lift cylinders. On a D14, you don't have factory 3 pt, you have a Snap-Coupler with two lift arms. But the remote coupler valves can provide what you need to operate the loader with the separate valve to run both the loader lift cylinders and the bucket cylinder(s). You would need to lock the lift arm lever in the 'UP' position, as well as lock the single lever valve to provide hydraulic pressure to the double valve loader control.

Thanks very much for the info, I was on the right track I see. I'll just have to be carefull with the extra pressure when using the loader.
The single lever valve is spring loaded so I assume I'd have to "tie" it in position somehow.

Someday I'd like to have a seperate hydraulic pump running off the engine pulley, there sure isn't a lot of clearence between the existing pulley and the steering box though....

You could eliminate that single lever valve and plumb directly tothe valve that came with the loader. Then locking up the hydraulic lever by the steering wheel would provide power to the loader- only one to lock up instead of two. Also- regarding adding a front pump- I don't know about the D14, but some D17s, maybe not the earliest ones, had a predrilled/tapped front pulley for adding a front pump. It mounted in front of the front casting and the drive shaft went through a hole, back to a fitting bolted onto the front pulley.

I ran a hydraulic hose from the quick coupler,the one you use for a wheel disc,down to the loader cylinders.I put a valve by the loader cylinder so I could raise the bucket to a carrying level,shut the valve off and use the the lift arms.

That works fine on a loader with one-way cylinders on the boom, and a trip bucket. But this fellow has a hydraulic bucket, so he needs two circuits.
