Rodger, I'd replace everything I could while you've got it apart. (Peace of mind factor)Also, it gives u a chance to look at the bushings within to see what kinda shape they're in. Note that these bushings are not subject to much side load; they just keep the axle shaft aligned with the spider gears, which should be a balanced load. Be careful when assembling...it's a close fit. Depending on the hours of the 170, you may notice a small ring on the axle where the seal was. Now's the time to take some emery cloth and polish up that area. The o'rings in the bearing carriers are a standard size (as are some of the other parts discussed) If you have a "bearing house" near, I'd go there 1st and get what's available. Then visit AGCO for the parts that are unique to the tractor. Do you have a shop manual ? If not, I'd highly recommend getting one because it outlines the procedures very well and gives dimensions and tolerances for assembly. Gatz
