Model B Brakes

Have hit a small snag in replacing the brakes on my 1950 Mod. B. One of the pins that holds the ends of the brake bands is frozen in place. Before I start beating on it too hard and possibly break the casting, does anyone have any suggestions about applying heat, penetrating oil, etc. Any cautions?

Rick, I just started to replace the brakes on my 1950 AC model B. did you get the brakes replaced ok and do you have any suggestions before I start to tear mine apart. Thanks from henry in Roanoke VA.

Rick, I have a '53 B that I am restoring. I soaked the pins with PB Blaster penatrating oil for a week. Make sure you remove the "C" clips
holding the pins in place. they are in a groove
on the inside of the housing. I drove the pins
toward the outside with a punch. when they move a bit,spray em some more and drive it back the other way. I finally got them out!! By the way, what part of N.C are you in? My dad has a cabin in lake lure. E-mail me back. I would love to see ur '50 and swap info.
