I have a allis W speed patrol, Serial # 1E-2601 which makes it a 1948 according to list. What model tractor is it? It does have a curved shift lever if that helps. Thanks

Its a speed patrol which is based on a WC/WD tractor but its in a class of its own, it really isn't a tractor but a road grader.

Right, I know. But is it a WC - WD - or WD45 ? Has engine # U-3019-28.

You might already know but according the serieal number info on this site the last WC was built in '48 the first WD was built in '48. The number you give for the engine is nothing like the serial numbers that I have seen on a WD engine.

He wasn't giving serial numbers, he's using the casting numbers found on the block. The engine serial number is located on a flat spot in the block just behind the carb.

I found the right numbers. It is W143210G. Also there is a tag screwed to engine block just in front of carb, 11-29-44. Can you help me now. Thank you

If it's a 48, it has to be a WD engine. Not that it matters too much, the WC and WD were basically the same engine. All the parts for a WD will fit (and have probably already replaced) all the WC parts if it were a WC engine.
