I have 2 Allis WC"s. One is my 39" which I have owned for a very long time. The other is supposed to be a 42", but, I am unsure if the motor is correct to the tractor. I"m thinking it might be out of a WD or something else. The code on the right side of the motor reads: U-3019 38. Can anyone de-code this for me & let me know if it is "right" for a 42" WC. Thanks from Maine.

send me the tractor s/n from rear end and motor s/n from left side - if its a 42 WC - motor s/n range will probably be between W120000 and W130000. As far as I know the early WC motors had s/n on rear of block and the WD tractors were similar to WC except for prefix change from W to WD on motor. (WD45 prefix changed to 45- and of course no plate on right side)

I got side tracked - note: Late WC and WD and WD45 motor s/n on left side rear behind carb.

The WC and WD used the same engines

Same basic engien, but WD had more power, more compression, and maybe "tweeks" elsewhere too. Maybe a different governor spring for a little more rpm.

The casting number you listed as U 3019 -38 is a very 'late' casting . Originally was probably a WD block. but got repowered into your WC. That happens alot, there are a few select people looking for the late blocks to make their late WD 'original'. Brad Sw Ia.
