My D14 refuses to lift a 2 or 3-bottom snap-coupler plow off the ground! It will lift a 5' brush hog, but seems unable to hoist either plow. The fluid level is fine - any suggestions?

The fluid level is fine - any suggestions? are you losing fluid from the lift resevoir and gaining fluid in the transmission compartment? if so, you are leaking at the rockshaft cylinder packing or the supply hose. if this transfer of oil is occurring, it will be one on these two problems and requires taking the rear housing off to repair. if there is no trasfer of oil, your problem will most likely be in the pump itself, a seat or check valve is bad. good luck, grapeape

That is definitely not normal. I have 3 2 bottom plows including the heavy forged beam type and the standard disk (28 disks in four gangs) and it lifts them all though can be slow at times. I know the pump is getting tired because I do get some chattering from cavitation. Does yours chatter? Also if you pump your clutch and on the lift lever at the same time will it come up slightly each time. If so, it may be that the pump could use a rebuild. I have yet to do my D-14 pumps but have done several B/C pumps. The concept is the same, clean everything out, make sure the balls are getting a good seat and that you arent getting a loss of pressure by fluid slipping by the pistons. The big difference is getting to the pump!

Another aspect that I thought of is the adjustments of your traction booster. If the 3-point you use for your bush hog does not connect to the traction booster/snap coupler bell and the snap coupler of course does, this would be a major difference. The massive spring at the bell could be causing premature release (though it seems it would also do this if it were unhooked?). I have not needed to adjust this but the procedure is in the owners manual. Ill take a look if I get a chance. This might be worth looking at.
